Tour 1 – Ecoult Battery Laboratory
Day:
Wednesday 12 June
Time: 9:00 – 12:30

Please note that transportation is included.

Ecoult is a Sydney-based energy storage company providing solutions to a global market in mining, telecoms, utility and other commercial and industrial applications. The company provides kilowatt-scale and megawatt-scale solutions using the CSIRO-invented UltraBattery, a hybrid ultracapacitor and lead-acid device that delivers excellent performance in partial state of charge operation. Ecoult has a CBD office in Sydney and an Energy Storage Laboratory in Macquarie Park.

The laboratory houses multiple testing and experimental energy storage systems and runs research and development programs alongside our US and India partners and manufacturers. The tour will give participants access to members of Ecoult’s executive and engineering team and will showcase the company’s product development environment and its real and simulated battery testing facilities.

Tour 2 – Food Bank's TES Installation
Day: Wednesday 12 June
Time: 9:00 – 12:30

Please note that transportation is included.

The New South Wales Food Bank needs every dollar they can get to help feed over 710,000 Australians each month.

A recent installation of Viking Cold’s unique thermal energy storage (TES) system allows them to reduce refrigeration energy costs by storing and shedding energy to avoid peak energy rates AND improving refrigeration efficiency nearly 20%.

With an LCOE of less than 2 cents/kWh, this TES technology easily integrates into any of the thousands of existing cold storage facilities, which have the highest demand per cubic meter of any industrial load.

Join the tour of the food bank to see the installation of this unique energy storage plus efficiency technology and hear how this non-mechanical system is managing demand, cutting cost, and helping to feed more Australians in need.

Tour 3 – Alexandra Canal Depot Solar + Energy Storage
Day:
Wednesday 12 June
Time: 9:00 – 12:30

Please note that transportation is included.

The largest commercially sited solar and battery storage installation in Sydney, pairing 1600 solar panels with a 500kWh Tesla Powerpack, the Alexandra Canal Depot showcases the sustainable energy possibilities for both government and commercial buildings in Australia’s major cities. In-house experts from City of Sydney and Transgrid will take delegates on an in-depth and informative tour of the Alexandra Canal Depot, covering green energy, carbon neutrality, stormwater capture and recycling, and the savings and benefits to the consumer and grid from commercial energy storage.
